How does SignalTurf work?

Behind every analysis shown in SignalTurf lies a fully automated process.
Before each race, the app prepares the necessary information, analyzes it using several artificial intelligence models, and then publishes the results in a form that’s simple to interpret.
This chapter presents the main steps of this process. General principles are deliberately explained in an accessible way, while technical details remain confidential in order to protect the know-how developed by SignalTurf.
An analysis carried out before every race
Every race is unique.
The horses entered, the characteristics of the race, and the information available all change from one race to the next. That’s why SignalTurf never reuses a past analysis.
Before every start, the models run a new calculation based on the information available at that time in order to produce an analysis tailored to that specific race.
Each prediction therefore corresponds to a precise situation and is only valid for that race.
Preparing the information
Before an analysis can be carried out, the necessary information is prepared so it can be used consistently by the artificial intelligence models.
This step notably involves organizing and verifying the data used for the analysis.
The goal is to provide the models with a consistent set of information so they can apply the same analysis method to every race.
This preparation forms the foundation of the entire process.
Several models, several perspectives
SignalTurf doesn’t rely on a single artificial intelligence model.
Several specialized models independently analyze the same race. Each applies its own analysis method and produces its own assessment of the race.
This diversity makes it possible to approach a race from several angles rather than relying on a single approach.
Using several models therefore helps produce a more robust and balanced analysis.
A shared analysis
Once the different analyses are complete, their results are combined to produce the information shown in the app.
This step highlights the horses that stand out most across all the models while accounting for each model’s specifics.
The methods used to perform this combination are part of SignalTurf’s proprietary technology and aren’t made public.
Calculating the confidence level
Predictions aren’t the only information produced by SignalTurf.
Once the analyses are complete, an evaluation model estimates the confidence level associated with each bet type offered.
This model relies on numerous indicators drawn from the analyses of the different artificial intelligence models to estimate the likelihood of success for each prediction. This estimate is then converted into a confidence level, presented in a simple way within the app.
The confidence level thus complements the predictions by providing an indication of their estimated reliability. However, it never constitutes a guarantee of results and should be interpreted alongside the other information available for the race.
Publishing the analyses
Once the calculations are complete, the analyses are made available in SignalTurf.
Depending on your access plan, you may be able to check:
- the horses selected by the artificial intelligence models;
- the confidence level associated with each bet type offered;
- the convergence indicator between artificial intelligence models (Premium).
All this information is presented in an interface designed to be reviewed quickly, whether by a beginner or a seasoned horse racing enthusiast.
Analyses that stay up to date
The information available before a race can change up until it starts.
When a change is likely to affect the analysis, SignalTurf may run a new calculation to incorporate the most recent information.
The predictions published in the app therefore always reflect the latest available analysis.
This update is entirely automatic and requires no action on your part.
Continuous improvement
How SignalTurf works evolves regularly.
New versions of the artificial intelligence models are developed to progressively improve the quality of the analyses. These improvements rely on an ever-growing history of races as well as ongoing research into the models.
Subscribers with early access automatically benefit from the most recent versions as soon as they’re deployed, ahead of their general release.
Transparency and limitations
Artificial intelligence is an analysis tool, not a way to know a race’s outcome in advance.
The analyses produced by SignalTurf rely exclusively on the information available before the race starts and carry the same limitations inherent to any statistical approach.
That’s why the app also publishes indicators and historical statistics that let you observe how the models behave over time, as part of our commitment to transparency.
